Part-Time Work

Don Pedlar, Minneapolis Police Impound Lot supervisor, 612-673-5793, is looking for any retired police officers to work at the Impound Lot during snow emergencies, street cleaning or any other time they are in need of extra workers. If anyone is interested contact him directly.

ORDER DENYING MOTION FOR STAY

Update on City v. MPRA/MFRA Lawsuit

The Minneapolis police and fire pension plans were seeking an order to freeze benefit levels pending the final outcome of an ongoing lawsuit. On January 6, 2010, the Court Ordered that the Defendants' (MPRA/MFRA) motion for a stay of Section 4 (a) of the Injunction pending appeal is denied. The Injunction, including Section 4 (a) of the Court's November 20, 2009 Order, remains effective and enforceable.

Because of the Court's denial of our cost bond to stay the pensions, the pension payments to retirees and surviving spouses will continue to be cut while the case is being appealed.
