Under the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004, retired officers may qualify to be allowed to carry weapons. A criminal background check must be completed. Certification is for a one-year period.
The following options are available for retired officers to qualify to carry a weapon:
GAH Minnesota
Tim Anda and Dwight are co-owners of GAH Minnesota, both are certified instructors for the Officers Safety Act, and concealed carry classes. Tim wanted us to put out the information for our retired personnel that GAH MN will qualify any officer at NO CHARGE. Also if any want your spouse to qualify for the MN CC Permit they will do it at a reduced rate. They run several classes monthly on the weekends. They are in both the N W and South suburbs so they should be accessible to most retired officers. They are great guys, and this is their way of saying thanks to our Police Officers for their service to the community.
